EVA Air Infinity MileageLands 40% Miles Purchase Bonus

EVA Air is offering a tiered promotion for purchasing Infinity MileageLands miles through March 26, 2026. Members who buy 3,000 miles or more receive a 40% bonus, reducing the effective cost to approximately 2.8 cents per mile. Lower tiers (1,000–2,000 miles) receive no discount.

Key details: The maximum annual purchase limit is 150,000 base miles (210,000 with bonus), with miles valid for 36 months before expiration. Purchases must be made in 1,000-mile increments. Importantly, purchased miles cannot account for more than half of the total required for any award redemption — at least 50% must come from earned miles.

Buy miles directly here. Transactions are processed through Points.com and will not count toward EVA Air status qualification. U.S. dollar payments typically offer better exchange rates than Taiwan Dollar options.

When might this make sense?

Buying miles is generally most practical for topping up an existing balance to book a specific award flight. EVA’s program allows creative redemptions, including one-way awards, open jaws, and up to two stopovers. Notable sweet spots include:

  • Transcontinental U.S. business class: 29,000 miles
  • U.S.-Europe business class: 65,000 miles
  • Around-the-world tickets via Star Alliance

However, award tickets on EVA Air and Star Alliance partners often include significant fuel surcharges. Always compare the total cost (miles + fees) against paying cash for the same flight.

Consider the limitations

The 50% purchased mile restriction significantly impacts the program’s value. If you’re starting from zero, this promotion won’t help you book full awards — you’ll need to earn or transfer at least half the required miles through other means. Transfers from Capital One (4:3) and Citi (1:1) are possible but may not be cost-effective for reaching the 50% threshold.

Price comparison

This 40% bonus offers 2.8¢ per mile, which is higher than EVA’s previous 50% bonus sale (2.0¢ per mile). For context, a 50,000-mile economy award to Asia would require purchasing 25,000 base miles (plus 10,000 bonus miles) at a cost of ~$700 — still well above typical cash fares for most routes.
