Singapore Airlines Boosts Marriott Bonvoy Transfer Ratio by 50% — Here’s What It Means for Your Miles

Starting April 1, 2026, Singapore Airlines will improve the transfer ratio from KrisFlyer miles to Marriott Bonvoy points by 50%. Instead of the previous 2:1 ratio (2 miles for 1 point), you’ll get 4 miles for 3 points. This means transferring 12,000 miles will now yield 9,000 Bonvoy points, up from 6,000 under the old terms. The minimum transfer of 3,000 miles remains, and the annual transfer cap has increased, though exact limits aren’t specified.

Despite this improvement, transferring KrisFlyer miles to Marriott Bonvoy is still not advisable for most travelers. KrisFlyer miles are among the most valuable airline currencies, particularly for booking premium cabin flights on Singapore Airlines or its Star Alliance partners. Converting them to hotel points typically results in a significant devaluation. For example, using miles for a business-class flight often provides more value than exchanging them for a handful of hotel nights.

If you’re considering this transfer, ask yourself two questions: Do you have a specific, high-value redemption in mind for Marriott points? And would those miles be better spent on flights? If you’re unsure, holding onto KrisFlyer miles for travel awards is usually the safer bet. For most, this update doesn’t change the recommendation: keep your miles for the skies, not the hotels.

Always check the transfer process and timing directly with Singapore Airlines, as processing can take several business days and may involve fees.
