Bilt just added Amtrak as a transfer partner on September 23 at a 2:1 ratio. Three weeks later, that partnership gets its first Rent Day bonus — alongside a Hilton transfer bonus that actually moves the needle.
The October 1 Rent Day lineup: status-based transfer bonuses to both Hilton Honors and Amtrak Guest Rewards, a Hilton status match and challenge, the usual 2x points on non-rent spend (capped at 1,000 bonus points), the Rent Free game, and targeted grocery bonuses at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for some cardholders. You need to have paid rent through Bilt in the current or prior month to participate.
The Amtrak situation
Let's address the elephant in the room: the 2:1 transfer ratio. Two thousand Bilt points become one thousand Amtrak points. Amtrak points are worth roughly 2.6¢ each on Acela redemptions, so that's about 1.3¢ per Bilt point before any bonus. Not terrible, but not the 1:1 transfers we see with Hyatt or United.
A status-based bonus helps. If you're top-tier Bilt, a 125% bonus (with buy-up) would mean 2,000 Bilt points → 2,250 Amtrak points. That's a 1:1.125 effective transfer ratio — getting closer to parity, but still not there. For context: 2,250 Amtrak points covers roughly a $58 Acela segment. You decide if that's worth the transfer.

Bonus applies to the first 100,000 Bilt points transferred. At 2.6¢ per Amtrak point, you need at least Gold status (75% bonus) to beat Bilt's own 2.2¢ valuation — and that's before factoring in the $400 Bilt Cash buy-up cost for Silver, Gold, and Platinum members wanting the next tier.
Hilton is the stronger play
Hilton transfers at 1:1 normally. A 200% bonus (Platinum with buy-up) makes it 1:3 — 1,000 Bilt points become 3,000 Hilton points. At 0.5¢ per Hilton point (conservative), that's 1.5¢ per Bilt point. At 0.6¢+ for premium properties like Waldorf Astoria Maldives or Conrad Tokyo, you're pushing 1.8¢. The status match and challenge sweetens it if you're chasing Diamond or just want Gold for free breakfast.

Bonus applies to the first 100,000 Bilt points transferred. Even at the max 200% bonus, you're getting 1.5¢ per Bilt point at a conservative 0.5¢ Hilton valuation — well below Bilt's 2.2¢ valuation. But if you have a high-end Hilton redemption where points punch above 0.6¢ (think Conrad Maldives at 89,000 points/night for a $1,200 room), the math shifts. The status match is the real value add here: Platinum members get instant Diamond through December 2026, then keep it through March 2028 with 12 nights in 90 days. Gold members get instant Gold with a path to Diamond. Blue and Silver get instant Silver with a path to Gold at just 6 nights in 90 days.
One catch: you can often buy Hilton points for 0.5¢ each during sales, and many cobranded cards hand out Gold or Diamond status as a perk. Consider your other options before burning Bilt points here.
The rest of Rent Day
Double points on non-rent spend: Midnight ET October 1 to 2:59 AM ET October 2. Blue Card earns 2x (normally 1x), Obsidian earns 6x on chosen category/4x travel/2x other, Palladium earns 4x (normally 2x). All capped at 1,000 bonus points.
Targeted grocery bonuses: Select cardholders get 5x extra at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's through October 30 (up to 1,000 bonus points). Check your app.
Rent Free game: Play September 25 (noon ET) through October 1 (3 PM ET). Top 10 win free rent (up to $2,500) plus a signed John Legend vinyl. Next 100 get 1,000 points; next 500 get 100 points.
Neighborhood experiences: Comedy shows (17 venues, 12 cities), dining (45 restaurants, 9 cities), fitness (SoulCycle and Barry's), and a NYC pop-up. Bookings open September 26 for Platinum/Gold, noon for others.
Bottom line: if you have a specific Hilton redemption lined up — especially a high-end property where points punch above their weight — this Rent Day delivers. The status match is genuinely valuable if you don't already have Hilton status. Amtrak is a nice option for Northeast Corridor regulars, but the 2:1 ratio keeps it from being a no-brainer unless you're Platinum buying up to 125%. The grocery bonuses are targeted, so check your app. And remember: you need to have paid rent through Bilt in the current or prior month to participate.
